The Junior Lab
Enter the world of technology in biomedical education, research, and development.
Enter the world of technology in biomedical education, research, and development.
The Junior Lab, BioMedizone's elite research-driven initiative designed to train the next generation of biomedical innovators, will soon be accepting applications. Interns, developers, research leads, and mentors work in small teams to design, build, and evaluate original projects in clinical AI, digital health, and translational medicine.
Every Research & Development (R&D) team consists of the following members:
1 mentor (experienced undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral student)
1 BioMedizone advisory board member
3 SWE Developers
2 of Research Assistants
5 Board Members
Each of these members will be assigned to a project based on preference, criteria, and availability. Each group will have a maximum of 12 team members.
Neurorehabilitation App for Implementation in Functional Neurology Clinics Across the U.S.
Designing and evaluating a neurorehabilitation application aimed at supporting functional recovery and cognitive retraining between scheduled doctor appointments and therapy. Potential research study evaluating effectiveness of application in symptom management in patients in Functional Neurology clinics across the U.S.
This project is one of our most selective, time-consuming, and technically advanced. The selection committee will be extremely deliberate in appointing 12 team members for this project.
Students, Interns, and Project Leads will Receive
Opportunity to gain co-authorship on research paper (depending on commitment - determined by Project Leads)
Opportunity Poster presentations (depending on commitment - determined by Project Leads)
Ability to make an impact on real patients
Mentorship and networking connections
Skin Lesion Risk Modeling + MetaScore & Potential Implementation in Free Health Clinics Across the U.S.
Fusing dermoscopic imaging with patient metadata to create calibrated risk prediction systems that moe beyond surface-level pattern recognition. Creating software with educational models and prevention programming for patients in free health clinics across the U.S.

Independent Geospatial Health Data Analytics Project
This track allows interns to design and execute their own original biomedical or public health research project under structured mentorship. Each student is paired with a mentor throughout their project, and all projects will address a real-world healthcare, community, or environmental challenge.
This project is focused on building technical learning and skills among our interns to graduate onto larger clinical-based projects such as our neurorehabilitation project.

Previous Software Projects (as of Dec 2025)
Our Software development team responsibilities will be to code and create various medical games for BioMedizone, as well as produce projects that will support initiatives in local and global medical education, research, and success.
These apps should help the public enhance their biomedical knowledge and education.
