BioMedizone is launching an AI in Medicine Research Competition!
This research project aims to explore the role of AI in medicine and medical technology, examining its applications in diagnostics, personalized treatment, and drug discovery. Analyze current advancements, ethical considerations, and future potential, gaining insight into how AI is transforming healthcare in a specific field of medicine, possibly for a specific disease.
You must work in groups of 4 students. Each group should have a designated group leader, who is an undergraduate student. All teams must have AT LEAST ONE undergraduate student. The remaining 3 students can be in high school.
You must write a literature review/bibliometric analysis on the use of AI in Medicine in response to the prompt above. Your response should be niche, targeted, and detailed. No use of AI is allowed in your paper, as that is grounds for immediate disqualification.
Group leaders may elect to remove a member of their team who is not contributing enough. Rubrics and paper outline templates are attached below.
We know you've been waiting for this one. The top 5 teams will receive abstract publication in the Undergraduate Research in Natural and Clinical Science and Technology Journal (URNCST) as well as a feature on Patch News.
The research competition officially begins on April 9th with our introduction session.
We will be scheduling some helpful informational sessions, tips & tricks sessions, and workshops throughout the remainder of the month up until the submission period.
All submissions are due May 3rd at 11:59pm EST, and decisions for papers will be made prior to May 17th.
Attached below are the standard grading rubrics, the paper template outline, and the registration form. NOTE: ONLY YOUR TEAM LEADER, AKA THE UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT, SHOULD BE FILLING OUT THE REGISTRATION FORM. We highly encourage teams to start brainstorming AS SOON AS POSSIBLE given the relatively shorter duration of this competition. REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS YEAR.
